                                        Hector Gonzalez D.V.M.
                                                                                        John Tolley, D.V.M.
 Doctor Hector Gonzalez was born in Wasco, California. He attended California State University, Bakersfield and Fresno State University where he earned his undergraduate degree. He completed his doctorate in veterinary medicine at Colorado State University where he gained an interest and expertise in equine reproduction and fertilization. Along with treating patients on clinic grounds, Dr. Gonzalez provides excellent ambulatory veterinary care to the farms and ranches throughout Kern County from Gorman to Delano. On his days off, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys cooking, barbequing, traveling, trail riding in the country side, and being with his friends and family. 
​Doctor John Tolley grew up in San Diego county and attended Escondido High where he participated in sports and 4H livestock. He then attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a degree in animal science. After several years of vet tech. work he attended UC Davis school of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1983. The summer following his graduation, Dr. Tolley started at Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital on Wible Road as a large animal clinician. He worked with BVH as an employee and then partner until 2018 when he retired from BVH and started Bakersfield Large Animal Hospital with Ms. Kelly and Dr. Gonzalez. Dr. Tolley is an active member of the California Veterinary Medical Association where he has been a long standing member of the legislative committee. Dr. Tolley is active in the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He participates in the general equine practice here at BLA. His areas of special interest are equine internal medicine, podiatry, and dentistry. He has long valued his relationships with the excellent farriers of Kern County. During his days off, Dr. Tolley works on his ranch below Glennville and cares for his horses, dogs, and cats. ​
